Where to Stay in Zhangjiajie
Base in Wulingyuan at the park gate for the pillars, or Zhangjiajie city for the airport and Tianmen Mountain.
Wulingyuan town
The only sensible base for the main park. Guesthouses, mid-range hotels and a few international brands cluster at the gate. Two-day park tickets mean you'll want to be walking distance from the entrance.
Zhangjiajie city
Better if Tianmen Mountain (the cable car and glass walkway) is your focus, or you have an early flight. 45 minutes from Wulingyuan by car.
Near Tianmen Mountain
A few boutique stays on the city's south side put you near the Tianmen cable car lower station.
