Wulingyuan town
The strip outside the park gate is lined with souvenir shops. Tujia minority silver, brocade, and hand-stitched shoes are the local specialties β buy from fixed-price shops, not the park-entrance touts.
What to buy
Tujia brocade wall hangings, silver jewelry (ask for a hallmark), dried kiwi and mountain mushrooms, and bamboo crafts. Avoid "amber" and "jade" from beach-style stalls β most is fake.
Bargaining
Market stalls expect haggling; shops with price tags don't. Start at 50% and meet around 70%.

Tujia brocade is the real local craft β skip the mass-produced keychains and ask for handwoven pieces.
