Sanya's Top Sights
Yalong Bay's beach, Nanshan's 108m Guanyin, the coral at Wuzhizhou, and the rainforest at Yanoda — timed to beat the heat and crowds.
Yalong Bay
The postcard beach: 7 km of white sand, calm water, and palms. Free to walk; water sports cost extra. Best early morning before the resort crowds.
Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone
Home to the 108-meter Guanyin statue built on the sea. A large park — allow half a day. Get there at opening (8am) to beat tour buses.
Wuzhizhou Island
Coral, glass-bottom boats and cliff walks. 15-minute ferry from Haitang Bay. Book online with your passport — tickets sell out on weekends. Water clarity is best October–April.
Yanoda Rainforest
Rainforest canopy walks, zip-lines and waterfalls 40 minutes from the city. A cooler alternative to the midday beach.
Timing
Heat peaks 11am–3pm — do outdoor sights early, beach in late afternoon. Avoid Chinese national holidays when beaches fill shoulder-to-shoulder.
Locals' Tip
Wuzhizhou Island tickets sell out — book the day before online with your passport number.
