Where to Stay in Qingdao
Old-town Shinan for the German quarter and brewery, Laoshan for the beaches, and the east-side malls for modern comfort.
Shinan (old town)
The German colonial quarter — red roofs, the brewery, Zhanqiao Pier and the Catholic church. Walkable, mid-range, and the most atmospheric base.
East side (Shinan new / Laoshan)
Modern malls, high-rise hotels and the beaches. Best if you want sea views and resort comfort.
Near the brewery
A cluster of boutique stays around Taiqing Road put you walking distance from the Tsingtao Brewery museum and the old town.
