Getting To & Around Dalian
No airport metro, but trams, buses and DiDi cover the peninsula — and the coastal road is best by taxi.
Arriving
Dalian Zhoushuizi Airport (DLC) is 10 km from the center — no metro line reaches it. Take a DiDi (¥30, 20 minutes) or the airport bus. High-speed rail connects Dalian to Beijing (4 hours) and Shenyang (2 hours).
Getting around
Dalian's vintage trams (Lines 201, 202) are a cheap, charming way across the old town. The metro (Lines 1, 2, 3) covers the modern districts. Buses go everywhere.
The coastal road
Binhai Road strings the peninsulas and beaches — 40 km of sea views. Best by taxi or a rented e-bike; public transport is sparse.
Taxis & ride-hailing
DiDi works everywhere; taxis are metered. Few drivers speak English.
Locals' Tip
Ride the 201 tram through the old town — it's a moving museum and the cheapest tour in town.
